
How Teamsters Credit Union Transformed Their IT Infrastructure With Acute Technology Solutions

Teamsters Credit Union in Blaine, MN, has four employees.
“We wear a lot of hats,” Andrea Adams, President and CEO of Teamsters Credit Union, revealed. “I’m not an IT person, but it’s the role I have to play.”
Unfortunately, not having a dedicated IT team meant that the credit union couldn’t always keep pace with the constantly evolving IT paradigms.
“We didn’t have the time to evaluate our technology infrastructure, much less proactively try to improve it,” Adams said.

“David came out to our credit union personally,” Adams recalls. “He was there the whole day and reviewed our IT policies, risk assessment, and everything else IT-related.”
What stood out to Adams was how open David was to answering questions.
“No question was off the table,” she said. “David welcomed all questions, no matter how basic—and his answers were thoughtful and easy to understand.”
Once the review was complete, Acute Technology Solutions took the next step.
“David personally sat down with us and showed us our current IT situation,” Adams said. “From there, he showed us what we could do to improve our IT and developed a detailed game plan.”
This plan proved to be a complete game-changer for Teamsters Credit Union.

“David’s expertise gave us a roadmap that not only helped us figure out the steps we needed to take,” Adams explained, “he also helped us figure out what project we needed to focus on first and compiled all that information into a detailed roadmap. We had a lot of work to do, but the plan made it very manageable.”

Acute Technology Solutions also assigned a dedicated support specialist to assist the credit union.
“Having that additional level of support was fantastic,” Adams said. “In the past, if we had an issue we would have to go to our core processor. Sometimes they would help us reluctantly, because it really wasn’t part of their job. But we had nowhere else to turn. Now we have a specialist who is almost always available and never talks down to us, no matter how basic our questions are.”
As a result of Acute Technology Solution’s services, Teamsters Credit Union is getting more done than ever before. It’s also set up the framework for the credit union to grow.
“We have the potential to grow that a lot of credit unions don’t,” Adams said, “but we needed the technology and infrastructure updates first. That’s what all this effort is for.”
